This is a critical time for our campaign to elect Alejandra Gutierrez and Mike Jordan to the City Council

Joan Hartmann Fund-raiser, Sunday, October 13

Spend a lovely afternoon in the very “green” garden of hosts Dennis Allen and Jenny Cushnie, and hear from Third District Supervisor Joan Hartmann about her work on behalf of Santa Barbara County, as she heads into a re-election campaign.
Election Day is March 3, 2020. Joan has been an impassioned and highly effective environmental actor for decades, first as an attorney working on endangered species and habitat; as an advocate for open space preservation; as a (former) member of the EDC Board of Directors; and now as the Third District Supervisor, a strong advocate for renewable energy and resilience planning.

Sunday, October 13, 1 – 3 p.m.

New SB Campaign HQ Opens: volunteer-driven canvassing with neighborhood walks starting at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. on Sundays

  Campaigns 2019-20

With Labor Day in the rear-view mirror, the campaigns for Santa Barbara City Council and County Board of Supervisors have kicked into high gear with the opening of a new Santa Barbara County Democratic Party headquarters that will get the work done not only for this November and next March’s Primary, but on through 2020. The HQ is located centrally at 123 E. Carrillo Blvd.

According to Operations Director Spencer Brandt, last weekend’s kickoff went well, making initial contact with hundreds of voters in support of council candidates Mike Jordan (District 2) and Alejandra Gutierrez (District 1) as well as 1st District Supervisor Das Williams.
There are only 3 weeks left until mail-in ballots for the City Council election go out. Many people in Santa Barbara still don’t even know an election is happening. We need to contact them as soon as possible, and that’s why our volunteer work is so very much appreciated.

The schedule of volunteer-driven canvassing and phone banking will continue with neighborhood walks starting at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. on Sundays, while Monday thru Friday phone banking beginning at 5 p.m. will start September 20.

To get involved in the action or for questions contact Spencer at 559-805-0733 or email.

Global Climate Strike, Friday, Sept 27 at noon, De la Guerra Plaza

On September 27th, people across the world will strike from work and school to demand immediate action from our local, county, state, and federal governments on climate change. In Santa Barbara, we will have a rally and march in De La Guerra Plaza at noon, where attendees can connect with local environmental groups and learn about what they can do to stop climate change.
